The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

Hot lines: Wednesday's best MLB bets

New York Mets at Colorado Rockies (-175, 8)

The New York Mets’ starting pitching staff wasn’t anything to write home about to begin with, but it’s in a lot worse shape after some bad news came down early this week.

Chris Young has suffered another anterior capsule tear and is expected to miss the remainder of the season. Young boasted a 1.88 ERA in four starts this season.

“I know where his head’s at,” Chris Capuano told reporters. “I know he’s down. He’s just such a competitor and such an asset to this team. In all the meetings we’ve had, he’s been the guy who has spoken up and said, ‘Come on, guys, let’s pick it up.’ Kind of the leader. He’ll be missed.”

Meanwhile, 21-year-old prospect Jenrry Mejia will also be shelved for the year as he needs Tommy John surgery, so there goes a fill-in option for the Mets.

New York ranked 28th in the league in WHIP and 29th in quality starts heading into Tuesday’s game. Jon Niese gets the call Wednesday and he’s actually been pretty good so far this year. We’re still sticking with the over, though.

Pick: Over

Chicago White Sox at Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (-120, 8)

The White Sox have turned it around a bit after suffering through a rotten stretch that saw them drop eight of nine games, but they still have a long way to go yet.
Chicago still sits mired in fourth place in the AL Central, while the club has already lost about 10 units for its betting supporters.

The White Sox hope that Jake Peavy will be part of the solution. He makes his season debut on Wednesday following a number of shoulder issues.

“I do want to bring some enthusiasm, some fire, some passion,” Peavy told reporters. “I certainly think the ballclub could use a shot in the arm. I not promising anything, by any means, but I can promise you this: We’re going to compete on that day. Not to say that we haven’t been—but there’s going to be more energy than we’ve had and go out there and try to turn things around, because we’ve dug ourselves a pretty nice hole here.”

Peavy has gone through a couple setbacks during rehab already but says he’s finally healthy. Even if that’s true, he may need some more time to regain top form – he was smacked around for five runs over seven innings in his last Triple-A rehab start.

Pick: Angels

Wednesday’s betting tips: Grizzlies-Thunder stats dead even

Who’s hot

NBA: Miami has covered in four of its last five games against Boston.

NBA: The over is 9-1 in the last 10 meetings between Memphis and Oklahoma City.

MLB: Tampa Bay has won 10 of its last 11 road games.

Who’s not

NBA: Boston is just 2-6 against the spread in its last eight road games.

MLB: The under has cashed just five times in Washington’s last 18 road games.

MLB: Philadelphia has lost each of Cliff Lee’s last three starts.

Key stat

2 – After four games, the Memphis Grizzlies have outscored the Oklahoma City Thunder by just two points (440-438) through the first four games of the series as they head into Wednesday’s Game 5 tied at two games apiece. The two clubs are also just about even in steals (36-32 Memphis), blocks (32-31 Memphis), and 3-point shooting (both around 31 percent).

Injury that shouldn’t be overlooked

Vernon Wells, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim: Wells hit the DL with a groin injury on Tuesday after slumping with a .183 batting average to start the season. The injury has forced the Angels to get creative in the outfield by putting regular second baseman Howie Kendrick in left field Tuesday. He has never played left field in the bigs, or in the minor leagues.

Game of the day

Memphis Grizzlies at Oklahoma City Thunder (-6.5, 197)

Notable quotable

"I don't worry about it. I always look at baseball like a stock market. You don't look at it every day. If it's a good stock after a long season, it's going to be there." – New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez about his recent slump. A-Rod hasn’t hit a home run since April 24 and is hitting only .176 in his last 13 games. Many think his left oblique injury may be still bothering him at the dish.

Notes and tips

Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra will stick with what’s working for Game 5, meaning center Joel Anthony and point guard Mike Bibby will start with Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Mario Chalmers coming off the bench. The Heat are set as 7-point favorites for Wednesday’s game, which is the biggest line we have seen in this series. Miami has covered four of the last five meetings between the two clubs, but more than 63 percent of Covers.com Consensus bettors are currently backing the Celtics.

Team USA will have its work cut out for it in the IIHF World Championships quarterfinals Wednesday against the Czech Republic as a big +275 underdog. The US club has had an up-and-down tournament so far and will have to deal with a Czech team that will have lots of fan support with the host Slovakia now out of the competition. The Czech Republic finished with a perfect 6-0-0 record in their group, while the US finished fourth in theirs. Team USA did get a boost with James van Riemsdyk joining the club after his Philadelphia Flyers were eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The winger led the Flyers with seven goals in the postseason.

Novak Djokovic continues his chase of the ATP No. 1 overall ranking Wednesday in the third round of the Rome Masters on Wednesday. Djokovic, who has won his last six tournaments and each of his last 34 matches, is set as a massive -10,000 favorite against Lukasz Kubot. Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer are also in action Wednesday. Nadal is currently at -10,000 in his matchup against Paola Lorenzi as well, while Federer is more reasonably priced at -455 against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

What bettors need to know: Wednesday's NBA playoff action

Boston Celtics at Miami Heat (-7, 181)

Miami leads series 3-1

THE STORY: Just when it looked like the Boston Celtics were ready to make this a series, the Miami Heat proved they had the extra gear needed for playoff success. The Heat refused to give in to the hostile TD Garden crowd on Monday and leaned on their stars to steal an overtime victory in Game 4. The Celtics were outmuscled in the final minutes, leaving them in a 3-1 hole in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinals. Miami will be looking to close out the series when it hosts Game 5 on Wednesday.

TV: 7 p.m. ET, TNT

ABOUT THE HEAT: After getting run off the court in Game 3, it looked as though Miami was about to hand control of the series back to the Celtics. LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh combined for a season-low 44 points in that loss as Boston seemed to figure out how to slow the transition attack. But Game 4 was back to business as usual, with the “Big Three” combining for 83 points. When the Celtics took a lead in the final minutes, James was quick to respond with a 3-pointer and traded layups with Paul Pierce to force overtime. The “Big Three” took over in the extra period, combining for all 12 points as Miami stole the 98-90 triumph. James led the way with 35 points and 14 rebounds, Wade added 28 and nine and Bosh chipped in 20 and 12.

ABOUT THE CELTICS: Boston managed a total of five field goals in the fourth quarter and was limited to one while turning the ball over four times in the overtime. Kevin Garnett, who dominated Game 3 with 28 points and 18 rebounds, was held to seven points on 1-of-10 shooting and 10 boards on Monday. Rajon Rondo fought through his dislocated left elbow to play 38 minutes in Game 4 but recorded only 10 points and five assists while turning the ball over three times. Rondo made many of his passes one-handed, leaving them just off enough that the Miami defense could tip the ball or the Celtics’ scorers had to adjust to catch it. Paul Pierce was the bright spot, scoring 27 points, but he missed a chance to win it in regualtion went his off-balance fadeaway jumper clanged off the rim.

WHO’S HOT/WHO’S NOT: After shooting 13 of 24 from the free throw line in the first three games, James went 9 of 9 from the stripe in Game 4. Pierce has scored 27 points in each of the last two games for Boston, shooting 19-of-40 combined.

KEY STATISTIC: Rebounding. The Heat dominated the glass in Game 4, outrebounding the Celtics 45-28. Boston managed only three offensive boards.

TRENDS:

* Favorite is 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings.
* Over is 6-1 in the last seven meetings in Miami.
* Home team is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings.
* Celtics are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings.
* Celtics are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings in Miami.

LAST WORD: “Wednesday night will be our greatest challenge that we’ve had with this group so far,” Miami coach Erik Spoelstra said. “We’ll get their best game on Wednesday and we have to be better. If we’re real about what we want to do, we have to beat the Boston Celtics at their best.”

Memphis Grizzlies at Oklahoma City Thunder (-6, 197)

Series tied 2-2

THE STORY: Fresh off the fiercest game of the current NBA postseason, the Oklahoma City Thunder and Memphis Grizzlies both seek a pivotal Game 5 victory when the Western Conference semifinal series returns to the Sooner State on Wednesday. The Thunder evened the series at 2-2 with an epic 133-123 triple-overtime victory in Memphis on Monday that consisted of memorable performances and thrilling plays by several players on both squads. Memphis blew an 18-point first-half lead in Game 4 and Oklahoma City let a 10-point fourth-quarter advantage get away prior to the three overtimes. Perhaps the biggest factor for Game 5 is which team can recharge from the emotional contest – the Thunder who return home after the dramatic victory or a disappointed Grizzlies’ team that missed a chance at a 3-1 lead.

TV: 9:30 p.m. ET, TNT

ABOUT THE THUNDER: Russell Westbrook (40) and Kevin Durant (35) combined for 75 points in Game 4. Both players are averaging 29 points in the series. Westbrook finally got his ball-handling under control with just three turnovers after having 18 miscues over the first three games. Reserve James Harden had 19 points and was a splendid 10-for-10 from the free-throw line. Frontcourt players Serge Ibaka (seven points) and Kendrick Perkins (four points before fouling out) had difficult games but the Thunder received a major defensive contribution from Nick Collison. He had just four points and five rebounds in 35 minutes, but Oklahoma City outscored Memphis by 22 points while Collison was on the court.

ABOUT THE GRIZZLIES: Memphis twice staved off defeat with late baskets as Mike Conley hit a 3-pointer near the end of regulation and reserve Greivis Vasquez nailed a 3-pointer late in the first overtime. Zach Randolph (34 points, 16 rebounds) and Marc Gasol (26 points, 21 rebounds) again had big games inside for the Grizzlies. Both players have six double-doubles in the postseason with Gasol’s contributions being particularly strong. Gasol averaged 11.7 points and seven rebounds in the regular season, but is averaging 18.8 points and 12.8 rebounds in this series. The Grizzlies were hurt by the absences of guards O.J. Mayo (18 points) and Conley (16 points) in the third overtime. Both players fouled out in the first extra session.

WHO'S HOT/WHO’S NOT: Durant is averaging 30.9 points in nine postseason games. Randolph is averaging 23.3 points in 10 playoff contests.

KEY STATISTIC: Five players played more minutes than a regulation game on Monday – Durant (57), Westbrook (51) and Harden (49) for the Thunder and Gasol (57) and Randolph (56) for the Grizzlies.

TRENDS:

* Over is 8-1 in the last nine meetings.
* Over is 16-5 in the last 21 meetings in Oklahoma City.
* Grizzlies are 23-5 ATS in their last 28 games following a loss.
* Thunder are 1-5 ATS in their last six games as home favorites of 5.0-10.5.

LAST WORD: “Both teams kept coming back and fighting and fighting and fighting. It became a matter of just not having enough bullets as the game wore on. Nobody wanted to go home. Nobody wanted to lose.” – Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins on Game 4’s triple-overtime instant classic contest.

Hondo

After weeks of searching, Hondo finally found his broom, which he put to good use last night by sweeping with the Marlins and Tigers to slash the debt to 1,035 bandos.

Tonight, he has a day/nighter in the works with the A's and Jays -- 10 units apiece on Gonzalez and Litsch.

Write-Up

Wednesday, May 11

Over is 12-5 so far in second round, after unders dominated in first round; favorites are 10-7 in this round.

Rondo is courageous but basically playing with one arm; he he had only five assists in pivotal Game 4, when Celtics had last shot in regulation to win game/even series but missed. Boston was 3-13 from arc in Game 4, after being 27-53 in first three games. Miami was minus-6 in 7:31 Wade was off court Monday. Bosh had 20 points/12 rebounds last game. Heat is 5-0 at home in playoffs, winning by 8-21-6-9-11 points, going 3-2 vs spread. Celtics lost Games 1-2 in this series here, by 9-11 points.

Memphis was up 18 in first half, down 10 with 4:58 left in Monday's triple OT epic that left series tied 2-2. Memphis bench was +44/+33 in its two series wins, -29/-11 in its two losses. Biggest factor here is who recovers quickest from Monday's marathon that saw five players play 49+ minutes. Westbrook had seven turnovers in both series losses, 6-3 in their two wins; he also had 40 points in Game 4. Harden/Collison are playing starters' minutes off bench and energizing Thunder.
